cVEMP testing uses electrodes placed on the forehead and sternocleidomastoid muscles (located on both sides of the neck) to detect evoked potentials due to inhibitory muscle activity in response to the suprathreshold tonal sounds in each ear. The cVEMP measures the integrity of the saccule and the inferior nerve.
